Advanced Certificate Programme in Career and Life Development Services for Non-engaged Youth

In view of the rapidly changing job market in Hong Kong, the demand for career and life development (CLD) services for non-engaged youth (NEY) is emerging. Continuous improvement in intervention strategies and case management are crucial to maintain professionalism and excellence during service delivery. This part-time advanced certificate programme is specially designed for local social workers who are working with NEY. It aims to provide professional and holistic training to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to provide appropriate support and guidance to NEY in their CLD journey.

In this programme, an Ecosystem-based Navigation-oriented CLD Competencies Framework will be stressed in order to understand NEY within different sociocultural contexts and assess their needs and challenges during their CLD journey. Holistic case management, useful intervention approaches and use of technology will also be covered to develop students’ competence in incorporating CLD lens into services for NEY.

Professional Development Programme for Managerial Staff

Apart from interventions of frontline practitioners, service mainstreaming and ecosystem change are indispensable to the success of career and life development (CLD) services for non-engaged youth (NEY). In view of this, the programme is specially designed for managerial staff from social welfare organisations. It sheds light on effective strategies in stakeholder engagement and CLD promotion to create an enabling environment for NEY through introducing CLAP@JC’s design and implementation for mainstreaming CLD services and effective use of digital storytelling in showcasing success stories.
