Alternative Path Finder Scheme
Alternative Path Finder Scheme is a support service for students with different abilities and aptitudes, including students with low motivation, potential early school leavers (specifically addressing benchmark 4).
This scheme will serve 8 selected Network Schools. Each school will be supported by community connectors beside the cross-disciplinary HKBM team.
Key supports for selected Network Schools
Support to establish a cross-team working group (Committee) which includes career team, counselling team and school social workers, set up the procedure to carry out assessment, service planning and progress tracking mechanism to cater for students with different abilities and aptitudes.
Identify early on students with different abilities and aptitudes, provides them with tailor-made CLD support services (e.g. personal guidance/ group activities), establish a personal CLD road-map for teachers and students to manage CLD plan and make informed choice.
Service to connect and set up referral mechanism with community resources for students with different abilities and aptitudes transition to the community, especially for drop out students to get CLD services yet with the BM standard.
Connect with BM-ready service units from NGO(s) and provide a list of BM-ready NGOs service units for long-term CLD support in school.*
*Community connectors will provide briefing and consultation service for NGO(s) service units to tailor their services to suit BM standard, use CLD lens to support students with different abilities and aptitudes with systematic intervention and case service in HKBM framework.
